Mist-o is an Italian / Japanese designers duo. Established in 2012 by Noa Ikeuchi (1983, JP) and Tommaso Nani (1983, IT), is based in Tokyo and Milan.
The studio is a bridge across Europe and Asia and the work ranges from the design of furniture and small objects to spatial arrangements, from limited editions to industrial scale. Tommaso and Noa divide their lives between Japan and Italy working between the two countries to develop their own design language. Even if their background is very different they found a common ground in the research for a meaningful simplicity, combining a poetic approach with formal strictness and functionality. Mist-o is used to working with a geographically spread design team, understands both advantages and complexities of these relationships and believes that this collaboration benefits the project and the Client; also believes this working method enhances the understanding of the local culture in its broadest sense.
Amongst their renowned  clients are  Cappellini, Ichendorf, Living Divani, Oluce, and Tod’s. In 2016 they received EDIDA Young Japanese talent award by Elle Decor Japan.

Our approach has the intention of communicating a vision where things arise from the meeting of different point of view and experiences. It is from a continuous chaotic dialogue that we slowly progresses towards a clear new order. It is like the mist that appears to an outside observer as united mass that moves as a whole but which basically is composed of an infinite quantity of single individual water drops.
We therefore try to show through our works that behind the physical products there is a deep study of things and that the understanding and respect of the human differences is the essential part of our job.
