Caribou

Caribou is a table composed of four wooden Y-shaped legs joined together in pairs by a transom sandwiched in between the two parts that make up the leg. The Y-shape is especially suited for creating a stable base for the table top and reminds one of a certain sort of expressive architecture like the proposal of Carlo Scarpa for the boiserie of the Aula Baratto in Ca` Foscari (1955 – 1956), where the Y-shaped supports hold up the boiserie ceiling.
